Neumann worked as a graphic designer, an art director and advertising account executive before beginning a career in the fine art paper industry, where he was employed for 20 years. He worked in sales and marketing positions for Parsons Paper Company, Crescent Cardboard Co., and Canson, Inc., where he was was U.S. Product Manager for Arches Papers. He was the creator and developer of Arches Infinity®, the brand's first digital fine art print paper, launched in 2003.
In 2005 Neumann left the corporate world and went back to school to earn his Masters Degree in Art Education. He taught art at Taconic Hills Regional High School and has taught adult art education classes at Columbia Greene Community College and The Art School of Columbia County.
From June 2009 through December 2017 he owned and operated Neumann Fine Art, a gallery in Hillsdale, NY that repesented accomplished regional and national artists featured in a program of changing exhibitions. In January 2018 Neumann retired from gallery ownership in order to focus exclusively on his personal artistic career.
